An animator career is becoming one of the most in demand careers today. A lot of companies are now hiring even a team of animators to do the effects on images that are needed for various purposes. So, if you are creative, imaginative and artistic, you have a good chance of landing on your dream job as animator in a big company. But of course, proper studies are required. Also, a lot of learning for skills and knowledge is something that you have to go through before having a great animator career.

There are certain things you need to consider if you want a good animator career. First of all, check if your skills and talents are fitted to become an animator. The most important skill you should possess is the ability to draw. If you want to work in a huge company, your drawing must be exceptionally good. Of course, do not expect to be landing on a job with Walt Disney if your drawing is just ordinary, right? However, not all animators land on a film or cartoon making career, they may also get careers in industrial design, architecture, interior design, internet-based jobs, computer graphics animator and other work that concerns drawing, artistry and creativity. Other job positions that are open to animators are storyboard artists, graphic designers, layout artists, assistants, background artists and a lot more.

And since animators can be working on different roles in the company, the possibility of getting a promotion is big. As long as you do your job well and you make sure that your craft is being noticed, then your company will how much quality you put in your work. Aside from this, animators also get good pay. The salary they get is for the hard work of conceptualizing, drawing and putting into action the images they have created. With all these work, expect high salary for this career.

Another thing to consider is your education. There are courses you may that are related to animator studies. This is to further enhance your skills and to let you learn more techniques in animating. You can take associate studies or bachelor’s degree related to animator studies. A formal study is one thing that companies look for when they are hiring animators. This is because you will not only draw or sketch all your life in that company. You will also be assigned to do other jobs related to your studies. Remember that you may not even land in a company as an animator; you can get another position but almost similar to what your skills may offer.

Being in an animator career, you thirst for new things should not stop when you finish studies. It should be a continuous process which helps you learn more and make new techniques to create wonderful and more vigorous characters and images. It is not all about sketching or drawing, it is about what your talents and skills show in your projects. Make sure that your creation will show how you are as an animator.
